Hello and Welcome!

I am Elise Marie Pagel, a bilingual (Spanish/English) pediatric occupational therapist serving my community in Summit County, Colorado.

 

I provide in-home, individualized support to children and families so that they may fully participate in the job of life! 

 

What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?
 

Occupational therapists help people of all ages to better navigate their daily tasks and activities.

OT can help children develop the skills needed to complete daily routines, engage successfully in social interactions, and thrive in school.

Eating, sleeping, and playing are children’s first occupations, and they aren’t always easy!

Could OT help my family?

  • Does your child experience frequent emotional outbursts or challenging behaviors during routines such as mealtime and bedtime?

  • Do they struggle with fine motor skills such as buttoning clothes, writing, and using utensils?

  • Does your child have strong reactions to loud noises, new textures, or other sensory input?

  • Do they have a hard time concentrating on tasks and staying organized at school?

  • Can they recognize when they need to eat, sleep, or use the toilet? Are they able to take age-appropriate steps to meet these needs?

My approach is gentle, holistic, and personalized to your child and family. I’m committed to building trust and fostering my relationship with you and your child. I focus on empowering your family with new skills and self-confidence to thrive in your daily routines. 

 

I combine my background as a yoga instructor with my expertise in the human nervous system to help children increase body awareness and build emotional regulation skills. I collaborate with families to identify their child’s sensory needs and preferences. These needs directly influence our behavior, and understanding them can be the key to improving emotional regulation. 

 

I love to celebrate each child’s strengths and interests as we build our therapeutic relationship. Using play-based strategies, I create a learning environment where your child can gain confidence to overcome challenges and build new skills to meet their goals. 

 

The most rewarding part of my work is equipping caregivers with knowledge and therapeutic strategies. Caregiver support, coaching, and education is integral to my approach and always included in our sessions.

 My goal is to bring a sense of empowerment to children and their caregivers so that they can accomplish their daily activities with more joy and ease.
